Discus prefer warm, soft, acidic water. Temperature should be kept between 82° and 86° F, although wild Heckel discus prefer water near 90° F. Use an Aquarium Heater to maintain proper water temperature. There a several types of aquarim heater to choose from: Hang-on-tank, submersible or heating cable. We carry heaters from several vendors. In order to help you deciding the size of heater to purchase, refer to the table below:
The heater size is for raising the average room temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit to at least 82 to 86 degrees fahrenheit.
